Pig Grinder is a free android game from indie developer Pixial.Inc, the name of the game is to keep your little porker flying for as long as possible whilst trying to not hit the many fast rotating saw blades moving around the screen. If you do hit a blade, well let’s say you won’t need a butcher to carve up that piggy!

The menu screen for the game is simple, top of the screen we have a rating button and social media buttons which lead you to Pixal.Incs’ Twitter and Facebook pages. At the bottom we have a play game button and a help button which tells you what you need to do. In between that you are given a type of “character select” where you can change the skin of your bit of bacon, the default is a feather winged piggy but you can choose ones with bat wings on and even one with helicopter blades!

When you click the play game button this is what you are met with next, the saw blades on the left and right of the screen move up and down independently where as the ones at the top and bottom just rotate menacingly calling to your swine. Your pig will stay in the middle of the screen until your first tap then it will plummet to its’ impending doom until you tap the screen again where it will do one of two things, a) Bounce off a wall and live to fly another tap or b) fly directly into a saw blade cutting it into porky chunks spraying blood all over the place!

If you manage to dodge the blades the game will continue on until you hit a saw and dice up your pig into cubes. Simple as that! The aim is to get as high a score as possible. I do like how it only loads an advert once your game has ended and it isn’t too intrusive either, top marks for that!

Gamescroller thoughts:

I have enjoyed my time with Pig Grinder, sadly it isn’t a game that is engaging enough to keep me playing it but it is fun for a quick blast and it clearly shows the developer has some great coding ability as I have yet to find any bugs or faults with the game! I spent the first 5 minutes of play just killing the pig in various mad ways just to see the bits go everywhere (I know I’m worried to!)!

As a 5 minute time waster this is great, if you are looking for a small sized game for your device that will run great on pretty much anything then give this a shot!
