It has been a busy few months for the Molecats, this news post will attempt to summarise it in an easy to digest format! Yum! We have a new member to the iWait4 family, sound designer Samuel Justice (www.samueljustice.net) who is now in charge of bringing the world of the Molecats to life through sound and dialogue. He has already provided some audio in our new prototype! (More below).

We were invited to show Molecat Twist at the Indie Games Arcade showcase at Eurogamer Expo 2011 which finished today. We were honoured to have been chosen out of over 100 entries, and our new sound designer Sam was able to attend with sound assistant Michael Benzie on the Friday (23rd Sept) to show off the game to the public. We were really impressed with the feedback and are so happy people are enjoying it!

For the Expo we went back to our Flash prototype and remade a lot of it, showcasing new levels and art to show the direction we are now going. Remaking the tutorial, adding characters, sound and art. This new playable prototype is now free to play on our website www.molecats.com!! Click on the joystick that says Play The Demo!

So.. What now? Well we are now moving into full production on Molecat Twist! We are building the full final game in the Unity engine, but will retain the 2d look. We will however use Unitys fantastic lighting and particle effects to really make the world of the Molecats shine! We are aiming for a development timeline of 5 months. We have created a new development blog at Molecats.com where we will post “making of” articles and other various posts that will excite the fans!

We are aiming for Molecat Twist to be released initially on mobile devices (initially iOS) and PC. This, however, is not confirmed and we will have more information about this as time goes by.We hope you have enjoyed this update. I'm really sorry to say that Molesting a cat won't be a feature of our game. I'm sure in the dark corners of the internet there is a place where you will be able to fulfil those needs.

Ah, I saw you guys on Eurogammer but didn't get a chance to talk to you. The game looks amazing. Gonna play a bit of it online since I didn't get a chance there (I did but I was so busy talking and walking about that I ended up missing it...)

Following you on modDB/indieDB for sure!
