Infinite maps are huge.
Lots of mountains; been digging up some of my own mountains in infdev. It's amazing how many hours you unknowingly waste digging away in this game. :P
Next thing i want in this game, more than multiplayer is an npc, like ogres or something that live in communes and protect their own territories
how awesome would that be ?!?
Notch is working on SMP(survival multiplayer)
he also mentioned things like "dragon lairs" and "troll camps". while dragons won't be added, the troll camps sount interesting.

it is a demonstration of the level generator. it shows the variation of land it makes. ^^
You should make it so that there are different climates in different areas.
deserts, tundras, forests, plains etc.
Things I dream of in Minecraft:
- Seasons
- Camps of creatures during the day, that protect small "towns"
- Underwater creatures
- Boats
- Multiplayer

this game has its own special beauty. looks like i gotta try it out someday
I would love a map that loops back on itself, much like a globe. Having that would really be the icing on the cake for Minecraft.

it is. it is 8 times the size of earth, as 1 block is 1x1x1 meter.
uh, to clarify, a potential map could be that size. not this map in general. it's probably a lot, lot smaller.
