Lugdunon is a 2d multiplayer RPG / sandbox game that is reminiscent of the 16 bit console era. Lugdunon runs within your web browser, so no client download is needed. Lugdunon can also be played ‘on the go’ on mobile devices such as iPads and Android tablets. Players can engage in combat with each other or with NPCs, craft and trade items, empower their character with the advancement system, place and decorate in-game signs using the full-featured sign editor, and more! However, what is really interesting about Lugdunon is the ability to take the game and truly make it your own. With powerful in-game editors available to players who have been designated ‘Game Masters’ and the ability to run your own server, the sky is the limit! Currently, from within the game itself, Game Masters can create new crafting recipes, add and edit NPCs, paint the landscape using up to 16 terrain layers, raise and lower elevation to create cliffs and chasms, place items, and edit NPC spawn points.

Alpha 0.5.6 released. Halloween update! Important features: bug fixes, performance improvements, crafting refinements, brewing and drinking introduced, plus several fall / halloween treats!

Happy Halloween Everyone!

To celebrate, for the month of November Lugdunon's oak trees will present themselves resplendent in their full fall regalia. Also, permanent additions to the world of Lugdunon include farmable pumpkins, 3 types of jack-o-lanterns (both lit and unlit for 6 total), pumpkin pie, and a special treat in the form of Elsbeth's Pumpkin Ale!

Pumpkins and Sugar Beets.

Jack-O-Lanterns

Several other additions include the introduction of:

Brewing

Yep, the brewing crafting profession has finally arrived! Brewing takes items such as barley, wheat, hops, yeast, and sugar, then combines them in a fermentation vessel to produce kegs full of refreshing beverages.

Recipes Include:

Drinking

Beverages produced in brewing can be poured into an empty mug, then drunk or given to a party member to drink.

Horn of Toklas' Ale

Horn of Ol' Nick's Stout

Horn of Elsbeth's Pumpkin Ale

Drinks benefit the player by imparting certain effects.

Gift of the Pumpkin King

Be careful though, as drinking too much will cause a negative effect that prevents those afflicted from drinking anything else for a short period of time. Food must also be enjoyed in moderation, as eating too much will cause a similar negative effect.

Intoxicated!

Art Updates

Streetlamps, wall sconces, smelting furnaces, and fermentation vessels all received graphical updates this release:

Wall Sconces

Street Lamps

Smelting Furnace and Fermentation Vessel

Performance Improvements

Several performance improvements were also implemented with chunk loading and rendering, and placeable item label rendering that should make screen transitions smoother and lessen the periodic FPS drops.

The lighting model was also improved to allow a more natural blending of multiple overlapping light sources.
