Post news Report RSS My process of creating a low-poly model :3

In this timelapse that lasts less than an hour you can see how I create a character for Catmouth Island from scratch until I rig it, UV-unwrap it and weight it. :3

This video shows how I create a model of a female baby for Catmouth Island from scratch. There is no commentary or sound, just a timelapse to show how I do it when I make a low-poly model. This of course is at the end of the development cycle for the characters for episode 1 (this is in fact the last human character I am making for the PC-version), so my process has got quite streamlined. There are no references used, and I just do what I need to do in order to get it done as quickly as possible using the knowledge of doing this that I have built up during my time spent on the project. The limit I have given human models is 300 triangles, and I manage to make this model well below that. The description on Youtube gives a bit more detailed insight into what happens in the video.

The end result after animating, texturing and creating a chair for the babby to sit in is this:

I use Adobe Illustrator CC for the textures. The chair and the baby belong to separate atlases. :3
