If you think Xen really looks good on the Source Engine, Xen may even be more better on the Unreal Engine 4.
Unreal Engine doesn't automatically make things look good. It has some benefits via the rendering engine but really when you have access to the Source engine source you can augment it in many ways which is what the Black Mesa developers has done. The real limitations is in the BSP format really and level geometry and lack of tesselation. Other than that with the right shader code you can get a lot of nice effects.
