INTRODUCTION:
I am currently working on a large game project, already going in with the expectancy it will take some time to complete, however this is probably going to be my largest project ever. Only recently given the motivation to make it happen, iv decided to build the team needed to make it faster and better then doing it solo.

The easiest and quickest summary of this game, is its like a GTA clone. You play a character who hates themselves doing things for people hed rather not do, in a large city and end up having everyone in the world hate them by end too. The difference is, the story is much more in depth and the game itself is 100% centered around the story, which is completely centered around the character of course. It tries to take a dark turn, and aside from a few obvious exaggerations, is based off a real story, a few years into the future (2050 Toronto).

Im a 18 year old Game Developer from Canada, strongest in programming, and holding the programming capability to get anything done. Im not just a person with ideas, I want to clarify that. I also want to clarify that this will be a free production, meaning it wont require a cost to physically complete the game. The game is going to be made in Unity as mid to low poly quality, and all assets needed, again, me and/or the other programmers on the team have the capabilities to create.

It is in strong consideration to make the cut scenes for this game done as live action with some CGI/green screen assistance, however for now, it will most likely all be in-game animations. If the game ends out turning well, then many of my friends in marketing, promotion, sales, etc, will be happy to help promote and sell the game on Steam, and (hopefully) Xbox as well, and start crowed funding to afford converting the cut scenes to live action.

What I am doing is asking for help with this project, preferably people from Canada as well, to keep things factual, however if you are not from Canada, thats fine (so long as your English is fluent, and of course your skills are measurable). Iv been working on this project for over several months now, in terms of documentation, but this idea has been in constant development for years. The majority of the “boring work” is covered, what remains is recruitment of our full team to get started.

I have some friends who are willing to help, and some that may join the production later in its development. The end goal of this project, is not to just have an interesting and in depth story, but also build a indie game that is open to allowing other developers and artists of various talents (from art, to modeling to singing/music, etc) have their work added to, and credited in the game.

THE GAME:
This is a 3D game that takes place in Toronto, Canada, year 2050. You can imagine the game similar to GTA 5 at first look, cause in many ways it is, but looking deeper at it, it only has similarities, but all games do.

The project will be created within Unity 5 Free.

You play a fighter, helping your cousin, who is in a gang, take over and run the streets, and the flow (drug and gun trafficking) of the city. You meet many people and go to many areas of Toronto throughout, and do several missions for people, however the only mandatory story missions are of your cousin and your trainers. Everything else in the game is leisure. The game is trying to focus heavily on the story, then any other element to the game, while there are other things to do in the game, the technology (futuristic element), and the story are the 2 major factual elements we want to first master, then add everything else around that.

While many of the players capabilities and actions that play throughout the game are unreal, the majority of the story itself is based off a real one, I am however, going to spare you from reading my life story though.

It is expected that this project will take about the full length of my college program (3 years), with an additional year or 2 for design and final touches and what not.

WHAT IM LOOKING FOR:
*This is a rough list, however these are the major roles, explained. Any questions about these, please email me. The points listed below each title explain the job (or generally the responsibilities) of said role.*

*Most important roles*
(1) Co-Project Manager
– Handles work progression and tracking
– Helps in keeping team up to date with progress and next stage work
– Manages receiving and tasking work
– Helps with overall work organization

(2) 3D Character Modeler
– Models all the main story characters
– Models any and all test characters/humanoids
– Helps in modeling other pedestrians, law enforcement and gangsters

(2) 3D Environment Modeler
– Helps in modeling the game city
– Helps in modeling the individual buildings that make up the city, and any additional props (such as street lights or signs, benches, tables, etc)
– Helps in modeling the city landscape, hills, waters, etc

(1) 3D General Modeler
– Helps in modeling weapons, vehicles, and furniture, as well as any additional props such as in-game technology

(2) 3D Motion Animator
– Helps with animating all peds movements (peds being pedestrians, gangsters, law enforcement, and interacted story NPC’s/characters)
– Animates all motion for the main player and allies (story NPC’s/characters)

*Additional roles*
(1) Cut Scene & General Animator
– Helps with animating the cut scenes of the game later in the development
– Helps with animating any additional assets, such as environments (street lights flickering, random events, car engine smoking, etc)

(1) Concept Artist
– Help in creating unique logos and re-designing current logos and concepts
– Help in creating additional reference and concept art for characters, environment, buildings, cars or weapons

(1) Asset Artist
– Create icons and weapons visual images for UI
– Help with creating any additional artwork such as combo icons or general game icons
– Help with creating radio channel and other UI art

(1) Sprite/Effects Artist
– Create the sprites, and effects such as explosions
– Animate any additional assets, such as frames of flame burning

(14) Voice Actor
– Voice a side character, small character, gangster, police unit, or pedestrian
– Possibly voice one of the main story characters
– Voice/DJ a radio channel or other side activity in game later on in the development

(2) Special Effects Audio Engineer
– Help with creating game sound effects
– Help with editing, and mastering audio (voices and some tracks)

(1) Music Producer
– Create some of the game and radio tracks used later in the game

(1) Font Designer
– Help with creating unique fonts and font ideas for the game or logos in the game, such as radio

– Preferably (but not required) from Canada
– Required, English speaking, or fluent English (writing/reading English, speaking English – basically, I should be able to understand you)
– Required, having and using Skype as main source of communication (Mic is preferred, but not required. Webcam is NOT required or an asset of interest.)
– Required, strong capability, or skill in the role applied for.
