After over 18 months in development I’m delighted to announce that Zombie Office Politics is now available on Steam Early Access. This is my best shot at what I think would be a funny entertaining game. Although more content and features are planned to be added over the next few months, this is a complete game, playable end-to-end.

Well okay maybe it is a crafting system, but it's a modern-day take on a crafting system...

Great new trailer - how does this feel say vs. Binding of Isaac?

Thanks that’s an interesting question...

Zombie Office Politics has more of an open feel - There are no rogue-like elements to ZOP and none of it is procedurally generated - I’ve designed all the levels and built them by hand. There’s a definite route through the levels but this is also punctuated by side quests and exploration opportunities.

It’s probably a much gentler pace than Binding of Isaac although the player can speed things up by drinking coffee. Feedback from the Steam Early Release will probably highlight whether I’ve got the balance right there or not.

Zombie Office Politics provides a choice of tools and options to complete the objectives. It’s not like traditional class specialization, in contrast it’s loose and fluid. You can switch tactics at any time, choose what equipment to wear and what items to buy from vending machines. do you build up composure and take less stress? or do you build up your skill and do more damage therefore using less ammo?

Similar to Binding of Isaac I started with an idea - a ‘what if?’ scenario - everyday office politics layered over the backdrop of a Zombie outbreak. IMHO it’s ideas that will ultimately win people over that’s what happened with BOI and what I hope will happen with ZOP.

The ZOP scenario contains characters with clear motivations - it provides depth and makes the game more plausible and real; ultimately, rewarding the player for jumping in. and saying ‘okay let’s see where this takes us’.

Hopefully the simple gameplay mechanics / story and humour combination will provide something a little different.

Appreciate the detailed response, sounds like a lot of thought has gone in. Will a demo be released?

No problem! After thinking long and hard I've decided not to release a demo. Not sure for certain whether it would hurt sales but I decided against it in favour of releasing trailers.
