Hi, I'm getting an uncaught exception when trying to run it.
Uncaught exception thrown in Thread[LWJGL Renderer Thread,5,main]
IllegalArgumentException: Failed to invoke app.scene.DesertScene.initTemple with Temple (Node)
On windows and oracle java and just opening the jar that is the download, this is right after the initial jmonkey display settings window.

I'm sorry to hear that. Thank you for the detailed error description. It seems like there is not enough memory available.

I've seen this error before and I'll try to decrease the memory consumption for the next release!

I re-downloaded it from a different mirror and got a .jar file instead of a zip and it works fine :) However I got an error when I tried to go fullscreen that said :
Failed to create display
LWJGLException: Failed to set display mode (-2)

I'm glad it worked at last. An installer and all will come later.

As for the fullscreen issues, you might have to tinker with the different resolutions & refresh rates. Ideally use the same settings which you are already using for your desktop. e.g. if you run work at 1920x1080 @ 60Hz then use the same settings for Wasteland.

Looks very interesting, but how do I get it to work?

Thank you.

If you installed Java, then you should be able to start the downloaded file with a double-click.
Which operating system are you using?

The walking speed really does need to be increased, I understand the game is meant to be taken slowly and enjoyed (at least that is my impression), but if you were to increase the walking speed (potentially add jogging when holding shift), it would make the experience much more enjoyable.

Other than that, this looks like a great game and I can see some true potential. Good luck in your endeavors and I'm eager to see the future releases for Wasteland.

Thank you for your feedback!
You are completely right about the walking speed. Though it is meant be token slowly, the speed is too slow and I have been thinking about increasing the speed. I didn't add the jogging- option because I don't know yet how I'd implement it for the Android-Devices with a tochscreen. I will do some experiments with an automatic acceleration.

I think the walking speed should be ok as long as you don't have to keep going back and forth through the same places lots of times like some other games.
