Hello and welcome to a new segment for Surreal System! Every week we will be introducing to you a new ability in the form of a written explanation, pieces of concept art and uses in-game.
Abilities are what Surreals have been entitled to do with their minds. There are theories that state that the mind, when completely unleashed, can do so much as to even alter matter itself! In Surreal System, these theories are put to work and offer choices so that the player can approach an obstacle or objective multiple ways!
Week 1 - Sifting
Sifting in Surreal System is the ability to pick up an object or enemy as well as send them flying across vast distances!

Sifting can also be used to stop large projectiles and throw them back at whoever shot them at you. This offers a wide range of offensive and defensive options for you to unlock! With so many interactable objects in the world, this ability runs hand-in-hand with Surreal System and we believe will become one of your new best friends!
Real story:
The mind is a powerful object and can do many interesting things. In the 1990's, a man named Dr. Masaru Emoto proposed a series of experiments in which he would take water samples and say both postive and negative things to them. The positive ones, when frozen, came out more aesthetically pleasing and beautiful whereas the negative ones came out harsh, ugly, and rough. Does this mean we can control the world around us simply with our thoughts and emotions?
And a cool thing to notice is that your body is about 60% water. Ponder that one for a while... makes you think, doesn't it.
Surreal System:
What this means is that, if we could unlock 90% of our brain power, could we modify everything? That is the theory behind sifting. The Surreal can shift air particles to move where he/she wants them to and at insane velocity as well, thus "controlling" the air.
Now, how can this be used to your advantage? Lets state a scenario:
You walk in on a band of insane people. They start to yell and fire at you. You have many choices as what to do now! For instance, you could shoot at one and kill him, then proceed to pick up his corpse and throw it at the others while you continue to attack. Or you could find a piece of loose piping and use it to attack the insanes repeatedly while you look around for more cover. The choices are plentiful!
