Snooble is a platform game for children ages 3-5. The game was designed with certain aspects in mind: A calming or meditative experience for the child. Facilitating mindfulness for the child. Pleasant atmosphere: all sounds are created to suggest adventure, mystery and safety. The game is based on a danish children's book "Snøblen". So all artwork and atmosphere is kept in the same style as that. There is no “Game Over”. The child can only succeed or spend all the time in the world just exploring the levels. When all levels are completed, you are congratulated. There is a Regular Game and a Counting Game. The Counting Game facilitates a learning process for the child while being entertaining and fun.

Description

This is a game that respects the child and you as well, by making the adventure happen inside the mind of the child playing this little platform world. Not by throwing epilepsy warnings at you, but by taking time to paint, detail, compose the right music and all in all just make something that doesn’t scare or throw you off. You can only win this game. Or take forever to do so.

It’s a warming adventure of Snooble catching hearts. It has atmosphere and it has soul. And it has tilt-control on the x-axis :-)

All the graphics were artworks done in water-colour by the one half part of the team, Naja Scheel. All water-colour paintings were then meticulously photographed, photoshopped and animated for the game. She also did the original soundtracks and sounds for the game.

We spent most of the time doing design and sounds and talking back and forth about how to get the right feeling happening in the game. And Thomas Felumb has written more ideas down on paper, than the entire platform game engine takes up as a whole. And that is the point: aesthetics above all.

As an added feature, we made a counting game: a random set of hearts with the numbers from one to ten. To complete the game, you collect the hearts from the lowest number up to the highest.

An indie game from the heart.

Hope you will enjoy! Or at least, that the children will practise counting and develop motor function while having fun and feeling good!
