This game was done in 48 hours by one person during Global Game Jam' 2014. (with some work afterwards;). I'm passionate about this game and I'm going to develop it further. It's going to be action RPG with dungeons, monsters, towns... and much more:).

In recent days beside some great skiing I managed to squeeze in some Perliner activities about which I would like to tell you. A quick updated version have I for you, and beside that, I may have a question.

Camera

I have decided to test out some camera action. Those of you who have already tried the game remember, that we have a 3rd person camera that follows the hero from behind almost all the time.
I was thinking about a possibility that a fixed angle camera would be better. And for that player would need some zoom control.

So, by default you start with the old control scheme. When you find camera angle pleasing, you can use ' key to freeze the camera angle. After that the camera will still follow the player, but will look at him from a predefined angle no matter which direction he faces. Something a'la Diablo.

What's more, you get zoom control. You can zoom in with [ key, and zoom out with ] key. You can also press \ key to reset zoom to default.

Below you can see the default zoom.

Questionnaire

I have promised a questionnaire. Why the questionnaire?

When developing this game I really want to you to be a co-author. I want to listen to your ideas, ask you questions and follow your needs and hints. Sometimes I'll follow my guts, but well, you know :). So if you enjoy the game and have some ideas, let me know :).
This time it is just a single question. Here it is:

I'm really curious which control you prefer. Do you prefer camera always behind the character? Do you want Diablo style camera? Do you want to be able to switch between them?

Let me know in the comments :).

The new controls

To sum it up, the new controls look like this:
