Natural Born Keepers Evolved is an ambitious project spear-headed by a programmer nicknamed IKSLM' His aim is to re-make the classic game Dungeon Keeper, but in immense 3D graphics, adding some new and exciting features along the way' This is no easy feat, and IKSLM and the rest of the NBK team have been pain-stakingly modelling the creatures, rooms, items etc' and creating textures to an unbelievable standard' The coding also has to be re-done, this is far more audacious than a simple re-make!
There are some small demo's and some screenshots of the progress so far, the rest is on the Forums.
This Mod is located at one of the only still active Dungeon Keeper sites/forums left on the net.

For the next version of NBK i want to include a main menu. I was thinking of somthing like this:
But somthing that shows of some of the things that dungeon keeper has to offer. Perhaps showing nice rooms or imps working. As its just a map in which the camera rotates round feel free to take advantage of the creature/imp ai. Does anyone know any maps which would look 'good' or even if someone would be willing to make a nice one, ill include it in the next demo of NBK (which i hope to be relativly soon). (i would do it myself but they tend to look terrible)
I only need the own, slb and tng file.

P.S. ADiKtEd works well - if you place the map.exe (and other files) inside NBK/data/resouces it works so you can easily view the map in NBK. (change levels.conf to load your map)

Max hasn't been on this site for over 2 years and as WFTO has been released I think it is safe to say that this is dead and will likely remain dead.
A lot of souls have been gathered from this page and in hell it will remain.
haha, its so similar to DKII, I hope you end this game like original Dungeon Keeper.
NBK will be a remake of Dungeon Keeper 1. The aim is for it to load DK1 map files and for someone to be able to complete the original campaign using the NBK engine instead of the original DK1 one (+ features included in KeeperFX). If you're looking for a new Dungeon Keeper like game, War for the Overworld is what you are looking for. They have great team who are making an awesome game.
I've started to work on the functionality of rooms. Which mean I hope to soon have 'My Pet Dungeon' (from DK2) functionality going.

This would be awesome. DK1 was so much better IMHO. War For The Underworld ended up being a huge let down. There were a few good things about that game but in the end the world itself seemed lifeless. What you're doing seems to bring an old class back to life with the same feel. I'll be rooting for you. :)

I think this answers most questions.
NBK will always turn out to be that DKI Remake, but WFTO will become the latest rendition of the Dungeon-Management Genre.
