Key features

  • Lead special agents of a space corporation: each agent has a dedicated leveling system, and a skill tree that allows for a deep customization of your crew. No fixed classes, and skills can be re-allocated as often as you wish. Hire more agents while leveling corporation: up to 20 crew members to play with, allowing for simultaneous and coordinated activities, both on stations and in space.
  • Build ships and sail through the space: Corporations will build fleets of vessels that Agents can pilot in space. Every ship is unique: fill the ship hull with components and create custom outfits.
  • Lead fleets in cinematic space fights: engage in 3D, RTS-like combat action against your corporation's enemies. Send ships in an enemy sector, and they will fight at their best even when the player is offline, using custom AI settings.
  • Play everywhere: wherever you are, you will be able to play Gates of Horizon on every platform available. The game works the same way on every system, and the same persistent universe will be always there when switching from your desktop PC to your tablet. You can now play on Windows, Mac OS, Linux and Android, and soon a iOS version will be available.

Gates of Horizon is a Real Time 4X Space MMO

Lead your fleet in a universe that react to your actions and changes accordingly, improving and managing your crew and your assets, taking control of entire sectors with your corporation and figthing the dreaded alien menace that still threatens the human race.
Will you be ready?

What to expect

No subscriptions, no hidden costs: buy the game once, play forever, on all available platforms. Period.
No "pay to win": should we ever decide to have microtransactions in the game, it will be for vanity items only, with absolutely no advantage in game: maybe a fancy paint for a ship, or a unique agent portrait, but no more than that.
We listen: we made this game so that players can have fun. When it'll be the time to add something new, we'll ask our players first.

Players asked. We listened.

During the last months many updates changed the world of Gates of Horizon for the better. Since our last update on IndieDB we added Events, Automining, A.I. Management and more. Our goal was to add richness of details to the existing universe, listening to the amazing feedbacks received.

Take a look at what’s new:

Scripted Events
We always wanted to make the universe more interactive: new events can now happen every moment, every day, depending on players’ actions. This will help us to develop a really dynamic universe, where almost anything can change.

Automatic Mining
It’s now possible to assign an Harvest order to a ship: it will travel through asteroids waypoints, mining automatically every asteroid in sight.

Ship A.I.
Players’ fleet and ships are finally capable to follow given orders, even when they are not directly controlled. We added the possibility to assign specific behaviors and automatic reactions for when you are not connected. Please refer to the official Wiki for more details: Wiki.gatesofhorizon.com

But wait, there's more!

Android Version: now available on Google Play for every player already owning a game account. Download it here: Play.google.com
iOS version is almost ready for public testing.

New Systems: we've added new systems through interactive quests. There are new areas available, with more rare ores and deadly enemies.

Mail Notifications: automatic notifications are now sent for important events happening to players’ corporations, even when offline.

New Sound Effects: we listened to a very popular request, releasing a better set of SFX. Turn up the volume and give them a try.

Mining Scanner: a new active component. Using agents' Mining skill players will be able to scan nearby asteroids and planets for rare ores.

If you want to know every detail or discover past updates, head over to the development blog.

Epic fight: they made it!

The Waistelands is the biggest in-game holding, and its players managed first to destroy a HUGE alien vessel: the Dagon. Watch and listen their live recording and see how they managed to destroy the enemy, fighting all together:

Steam Cards

There's no need to say more: we have also prepared a set of Steam Cards! You will get your cards playing the game on Steam.

We have also prepared a set of wallpapers from the Steam Cards: you can download your wallpaper on the official website.

New game trailer

Gates of Horizon is now better than ever, and we’ve done our best to reach this goal.
We seized the opportunity, and we have created a new cinematic trailer.
Help us spreading the news, share this video with the world:

The universe of Gates of Horizon is waiting for you. Prepare your fleet and jump in.

So is this like a small-scale 4x game or is it more like EVE Online? The way it seems to be described, it's not real clear.

Thanks for your feedback, I'll update the game description.

We got inspired by great games like Homeworld and Elite, and we are trying to bring together in an online universe RTS elements from the former with the great experience of the latter.

GoH has some similarities with EVE, but there are a lot of unique features. For example you can control multiple ships at the same time and you can give offline orders. Well, it's also multiplatform.

Join us in the next gaming sessions :)

I thin k it's like an EVE but based more on combat and a changing world tha in exploration.

You're right, the dynamic universe will have a very important role. Though there will be a lot to explore :)
