After the abrupt ending of your coaching career seven years ago, the hysterical attention of the press quickly faded. But struggling results by Calchester FC convinced Boris Aluminovitch, its billionaire president, to axe the previous beleaguered manager and give you a new chance.

Will your raucous shouts from the bench change the fate of the team? Will you find wiseness and karma leadership with the help of the Book of Changes? Will your shady past reach back to you and make you crumble?

Chances that you can make it through a full season are slim. Corruption, crime, drugs and romance are all paths that you may take - for better or worse.

Why another game on football?

Football Drama was started after discovering and exploring the richness and quality of the literature about football. Novelists and poets like Pasolini, Galeano, Soriano, Hornby, Saba, Handke, Wenders have written about football and its evocative and poetic power. Same in movies, with fringe and beautiful works like The Lost World CupVimeo.com or Wender's The Goalie's Anxiety at the Penalty Kick. Another great inspiration was the book Football Clichés by Adam Hurrey.

This naturally lead to the question: why people love football so much?

So we started designing a new, unique game around football, as we believe games can be a wonderful media for storytelling.

Football Drama “HD” — Major Update On Steam

Starting December 22 (7PM CEST) you can buy /update Football Drama on Steam and get a full-featured version built for desktops:

This is a big update for desktop users, as with this the entire application layouts have been redesigned to use the whole landscape mode space. We hope you’ll appreciate the new layouts! Also, Steam Winter sale is coming...

This release also includes several feature updates.

One nice new feature that we found can improve a lot the gameplay experience for some players is the “sped up mode”, available in Settings, that speeds up the matches gameplay so that the flow from deciding between a cautious and a risky move is quicker. This option also removes the enter fields animations and the replays after the first championship week.

We have a new “night mode” - some matches are played in the evenings. We also introduced some post-processing for the graphics of the whole application, and you can see both effects in action here:

There also some bug fixes and a new badge, that you may get when you meet a journalist and the major plot is revealed...

And the future? We are now building a content expansion update (first quarter 2021), together with a Japanese language version and Nintendo Switch release. All this will be a free update for Steam users.
