You are a God! You are master and ruler of a loyal nation. You have unimaginable powers at your disposal. You have claimed this world as yours. But there are others who stand in your way. You must defeat and destroy these pretenders. Only then can you ascend to godhood and become the new Pantokrator. When you start the game you decide what kind of god you are and how your DOMINION affects your lands and followers. It is an expression of your divine might and the faith of your followers. If your dominion dies, so do you. Your dominion also inspires your sacred warriors and gives them powers derived from your dominion. In order to win and become the one true god you have to defeat your enemies one of three different ways: conquer their lands, extinguish their dominion or claim the Thrones of Ascension. Release version and manual is available now. Manual can be downloaded from Illwinter's web page.

Good game deep, but need a lot of improvements in the UI.

Well, as a newcomer to Doms world, it may seems an exageration score.
But as a veteran player, more oriented to strategy (TBS mainly: Civ saga, HOMM, Age of Wonders saga, Fallen Enchantres and many more on this style), this game is simply THE GAME.

I've frecuently read that dominions games are not for everybody. The learning curve and the micromanagement required are very important. And they increase as the turns goes on. I think that only by digging deep and reading guides you can get the juice that the game offers.

Reasons: lots of game mechanics (emcumbrance, aging, exclusive abilities for units), great treatment for the magic system (magic places, that must be site-searched, gets distilled into magic gems, that are used to fuel spells, summonings, rituals, item forging, researching, bloodhunting, communions and many other things to discover....), many diverse nations to play (replayability is granted) with unique units, spells and summons,...

Combat is automatic, although it may seems discouraging at first, you have combat orders and formations, and after a time I think it is the best way to deal (thinking in having to control each battle could be insane).

Graphical aspect. Well, if you want beatifull landscapes and modern 3D graphics, this is not the game. But for the purposes of the game (showing us all the information needeed) they are more than ok. As I said before, a TBS gamer usually will prefer simple graphics and lots of stuff, than better graphics and plain gameplay. Anyway, the graphics and the musics are coolenough to get into the game.

Ok, so there is a lot of stuff in the game. That is why micromanagement is so complex, and the game is for those who accept it. But if you are one of those, you should give it a try

I'll note two more things:
- There is an active multiplayer community (I hope i'll join some day)
- Game is currently in beta, so expect bugs. But expect a lot of updates too, with new content (visit developer upgrade list t

This rating is from the perspective of multi-player. It's a good game. For the most part, I like all the changes from dominions 3.

However, there are some changes that render the multiplayer game even slower to complete than before. Specifically, significantly higher defenses on capital forts and significantly slower movement across the board. Perhaps the game will change with patches or meta-strategies will make up for this and when that happens my impression may change.

But for me, these changes seem to add weeks and months to the length of a MP game when you're going at 1 turn a day, on top of dom3's 2+ month completion time.

For me, that sadly puts this game out of the MP playable range, and thus the lower 8/10 score compared to dom3. Still a good game, if you liked dom3.

A totally amazing game, with a lot of potential. It shows that a game does not require ultra high graphics in order to be enjoyable and fun. To be honest, it took me really long time to learn the game, and it's because it offers such a deep strategy, you can't even imagine.

This is a 4x game that also allows you to watch battles. That's SO cool. Also the art style and fantasy theme are quite nice and really draw you in.

Such an amazing game, nearly limitless depth and so much support and moddability

Simply the most complex, rich and best strategy turn-based game ever. The Lore is incredible and every game is different and you will discover each time new creatures and monsters. Awsome Modding support too. Thanks Illwinter!
