In my time, during my childhood, kids didn’t get used to be stuck inside houses and condos. Video-games and computers were not available for all.
All kids used to interact more and used their imagination to spend their time with fun games. They played with marbles, hide and seek, kites, go-carts, bicycles and other toys.
One of these games that brings me joyful memories of my childhood is when we used to race with bottle caps.
Houses were constantly in construction reform, which lead to a lot of sand.
All kids got together, we built a track for the race and every kid searched for its best bottle cap.
The position in the race was defined by odds or evens, or zeros or ones, another common way to solve disputes between kids.
When the race started, every kid had three flicks in order to push their bottle caps. Whoever went the most distance with their bottle cap would win, exceeding many obstacles and curves.
This game was pure fun. It required ability and strategy in order to go far and win.
People think that only expensive gifts bring happiness and joy to kids, but you don’t need a lot to make them happy. Just give the freedom to create and live.
Inspired by these joyful memories, I have created the video-game of Bottle Caps Racing. This game takes this fun game inspired by children’s imagination to the digital world and the best part is that you can still play it in the real world, with lots of sand and a few bottle caps.
