Ayla is a causual 2.5D platform and puzzle game designed for platforms like Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation network and Steam. The Gameplay focuses on gravity and the players ability to manipulate it on either the main character, objects or entire areas.

This is a six week pitchproject made in UnityFree by 8 FutureGames Academy students.

Ayla is a decendant of an ancient great empire that once created a device that could manipulate gravity, but their careless use of it shifted the world violently out of balance. The device was sealed away in a great temple for decades but as an alien threat has come to seek the power that once shook the universe Ayla decides to take the device to the planets core and use it to fight off the attackers. But at what cost?

Our Unity contest has come to a close, with over 50 entires and 10 amazing finalists, the quality of entries has been amazing. We asked for original concepts and we had an amazing response but in the end there can only be 2 winners. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Unity 3D for the amazing prizes, both the Unity iPhone and the Unity Pro licenses are worth over $3600!

Before you find out who the winners are why not take a look at the ten finalists who all made it so difficult to pick winners. Honorable mention goes out to Pirates of new Horizons whom both the Unity and IndieDB team agreed had the best art direction. And also an honorable mention to Bloom who we felt had a very interesting gameplay mechanic.

Just played through the demo that you released and I've got to say, it's by far my favorite game out of all of the Unity entries. The graphics and music have a very nice ambient feel and the gravity mechanics and the whole room rotation thing is absolutely awesome. My only criticism is the death animation, I think you should work on that a little bit. It seems so bland, sudden and out of place.

I hope you stick with it, and I hope you have a succesful release. Hopefully on Steam. d:
