"Adventures" is a family-friendly, truly cooperative (yet also solo!) 'dungeon crawler' with a unique 'positive life message' mechanic - compliments and nice gestures are required to keep morale high and the party performing at their best. Playable by everyone including the very young, it's a game you can solo as a complex party-based RTS, and/or play drop-in coop with your family and friends for a more arcady, cooperative experience. It's called 'Adventures' because the adventures will be unlimited by theme. At launch it'll be a dungeon crawler, but we'll have adventures in all sorts of environments - sci-fi, medieval, fantasy, etc.

Description

Priorities for a developer are sometimes hard to get right. Adding pretty lighting was way down my list after solid gameplay. However, it's the pretty games that get all the attention! So I looked at improving the lighting and it actually makes a real difference, not only to the professionalism of the game, but also to the morale of me the developer. Seeing a game look more like something worth people's time and money makes it that bit easier to believe in.

But more than that, it presented new gameplay. Black levels with monsters rushing out the darkness, and limited lamps to see with, and destructible light sources you need to be careful with.

What do you think of the changes?
