Yesterday we posted THE big announcement for our game containing all of the current game information, development plans and gameplay images. We double checked, it fits all of the criteria, yet it was still archived. The information was new and relevant, we double checked the grammar, and we included gameplay stills of the current build. This is a really poor way to treat new indie developers. We at Black Amber Software came to the Indie Database with the official announcement of our game because it is a strong community and the perfect place to get exposure for our game. Apparently that is not the case. If you do not stop archiving major announcements from new indie developers, this community is going to start to dwindle.

Our article met ALL of your criteria and you still archived it before it could gain any attention. How are we supposed to let people know about our game if you keep silencing major announcements like this?

At first I was giving you the benefit of the doubt, assuming it was a freak occurrence, but when I deleted the article and resubmitted it, double checking everything and adding even more information on the current build, the exact same thing happened.

I speak for me and my co-developers on the project when I say we want answers.

I'm sorry - I've reviewed your post and it should have been archived. It does help to include a few more images or video to help visualize your update. But we are working to make our system more open and helpful to indies

For proof, your article contained zero or almost zero media (screenshots, renders, concept art, trailers which are a must):
the first submitted article Media.moddb.com
the second one Media.moddb.com

Embedded media and its quantity & quality is extremely important when you wish to have your news article frontpaged. It is not granted for free. Effort in posting and editing your post is absolutely required.

It meets only basic requirements to not get deleted. Whether it is going to be archived or authed, it is an entirely distinct matter.

The answer is other developers' articles that have 100% chance to be frontpaged, here are perfect examples:

Hearts of Oak: A Look Back at 2014 Indiedb.com
ExtroForge Terrain Generation Indiedb.com
The Universim February Update Indiedb.com

Here are tips: Moddb.com
and here: Moddb.com

It is quite insulting to charge at the site staff when not making any effort to make your post truly amazing and instead deliver a poor quality text-based article almost without any sort of media content included at all and demand it featured. If you have any doubts how an article should look like, you can take a peek at those 3 articles above - they are excellent examples how news-to-be-frontpaged should be presented.
