Hello, Does anyone heard about "news inside a game" concept ? In the last years we read news about players, interests ,moves and winners. Imagine you have a site like Cnn or Foxnews that delivers the world news as a real working game. I believe that we can better understand how the world operates by using the principles ( working knowledge) of game design, physics, logic, navigation. En.wikipedia.org |

Developing a game takes time. If we wanted to represent a new real event in a playable form we could for sure do it but when we finished developing the game the event wouldn't be "new" anymore. Also in my opinion the best way to get informed for the latest world events is by reading articles from trustworthy websites. Representing an event or fact through a game or a movie is a pretty childish way of explaining what happened, adults should be able to understand and judge something just by raw information and not by information that has been alternated by the person who did the representation. |

I like the idea, its not original.. look at FIFA using the REAL football leagues and all the thrills and spills within their game.. the only problem is translating the real time events into game elements, say a celebrity dies, its very different from a financial crash or ISIS lopping the head off some poor soul again. How would you represent each story within the game? would they be as SImPLE as headlines attached to little space invaders and killing them lets you READ the full story.. or is it as complex as creating some kind of ongoing adventure where the latest news affects the way the game goes?? its incredibly ambitious.. but so was space invaders at one point |

The way to translate real time events to game elements is to build a context. The idea is not to see shootings on the screen but to see changes in structure which have meaning. Movement War is collision between forces. ISIS is more extreme then al qaeda which mean they position themselves after or in front al qaeda. In order to be the first you have to move to the center position or move to the extreme position ( The logic behind ISIS extreme actions ). United states wants Iran to be in full ALIGNMENT with international law. Coalition forces GO INTO ACTION to REMOVE ISIS FROM POWER. Player wants to ADVANCED TO POWER. Alexander the great replaced the world VALUES with Greece values. -------------------- The game is not about shootings and graphics, it is about the mechanism of reality.
