Welcome to the 1st annual App of the Year awards, a celebration of the best mobile and tablet games released in 2012 as well as the up and coming whom we hope edge towards release in 2013. For the next 30 days, it's time to recognize the dedication and creativty of so many developers who have given everything to their craft.
We are totally new to this and only have a few thousand games listed - so make yourself count and show your support by finding your favorites and voting for them! We aim to continue to be a site which puts the developers in charge and first instead of editors, leaderboards or advertising - so all of the creators who put in the effort to list their game here are eligible to win. Who will be the first to take out the 2012 App of the Year? Up until Jan 1st 2013 join us and soon you will find out! Phase One Nominations are OPEN!
On December 1st the voting booths open to the public, so spread the word to get your favorite mobile games into this years Top 50!
It's all about the art!
Last year event theme was created by a talented young buck and 2012 is no different. Wally is back and has never looked better with his new pals Connie the controller and Mobie the Mobile (we are very original here in the DesuraNET offices). Find out who gave life to our mascots with the 2012 Artist Biography. Unveiled December 9th.
Something Physical
As if to put all other awards to shame this year will feature specially crafted extremely limited physical trophies sent out to the winning developers for Editors Choice and Players Choice (released). The process was something we have never attempted before and it takes advantage of new age technology. Find out more with our detailed article. Unveiled December 10th.
Phase Two TOP 50!!
Phase two begins on December 12th along with the Top 50 mobile games that you the players selected for 2012! Players will be able to vote from the 12th right up until the 21st of December on the Top 50 page there you will be able place your votes for the mods you want to see win App of the Year 2012.
Winners Announced
Just like previous years our final awards are announced just around Christmas, it will be a fantastic gift for the hard working developers!
